Diverse Book Recommendations: Mental Health

During the past month I’ve been participating in the #diversebookmay book challenge hosted by Kevin @sumptuousbooks on instagram. They’re hosting another challenge in June, which is all about the LGBTQIA+ community as it’s Pride Month! I’ll definitely be joining and I hope you will too. Find it at #diversebookjun.

The May book challenge was themed around mental health. When I first saw it, I doubted whether I could participate because I couldn’t come up with books for most of the prompts. Then I thought: the fact that I can’t come up with those books shows exactly why this challenge is necessary, and I decided to look up as many books as I could. Because of this, a lot of my photos ended up being of a book cover on Miki’s phone. But I did find a lot of new books to put on my TBR. I would love to share those books with you!

I collected all of the books I found on the internet, the recommendations in the comments on my posts, and the books posted by others for this challenge in this list. It’s long, but definitely not long enough. Some of the prompts in particular did not gain a lot of recommendations. So if you do have recommendations, please comment below! Also, let me know whether you’ve read any of the books on this list and would recommend them. Most of these I haven’t read (yet)… I marked the ones I have read by underlining them.
